World Development Appeal
With the emphasis on our Property Appeal we didn’t issue our usual World Development and Relief 1% Appeal. The Church Council has decided the appeal should be issued in late June. Forewarned is forearmed!
Guatemala 2012 – Salad Lunch
Many thanks to everyone who contributed on the day and to those who were able to support the lunch which was part of Simon’s fundraising efforts for the Guatemala DYCW/MMS(Ireland) short term mission in July. The sum raised to date is £697.
MWI BBQ:
The annual District BBQ takes place at the Killyhevlin on the 20th June at 7pm. All ladies wishing to attend are invited to sign their name on the sheet in the porch and give £15 to Verena Toner.
Conference 2012
Please note that on Conference Sunday our service will be at 11am and not its usual 11.30am. This is to facilitate the conference. The service will be a united circuit service – there are no other services in any of our circuit churches on that Sunday. We are also expecting some of the representatives to conference to attend. The Rev Leo Osborne, President of the Methodist Church in Britain, is the planned preacher.
The District Conference Choir meets in the Cathedral for its next rehearsal this coming Tuesday at 7.15 pm.
We still haven’t sufficient secretarial help to fill the rota during the conference. Please let Sam know if you can help in this way.

This is the 243rd Conference of the Methodist Church in Ireland. The Rev John Wesley presided over the early ones and his successors in the Methodist Church in Britain continued to do the same up until the 241st Conference when, for the first time, the President of the Methodist Church in Ireland was also President of the Conference.
